Attia - longevity focus on alpha-ketoglutarate, urolithin a & sublingual NAD. It was an interesting discussion with the highlights being no mechanism is currently defined for most interventions impact on longevity. Probable benefit of urolithin A and a-ketoglutarate. Most of the interventions improve exercise function and the question is, is there additional benefit outside of improving exercise function.
Additional longevity agents are - GLP1s, SGLT2, and metformin. Still surprised that there was not more discussion on 17a - estradiol and acarbose. They were skeptical of metformin's impact.
The key question are these agents only good for unhealthy individuals
Huberman - focus was on psychedelics. Talked about the risk of use in people with manic bipolar and schizophrenia. Potential impact on PTSD and neuroplasticity associated with the concept of self
FMF - also a focus on psychedelics. Was talking about psilocybin and it’s potential use as a longevity agent. This is typically because depressed people tend to live shorter lives. There were biological benefits
WCI - spoke about the impact of the Big Beautiful Bill and the implications for people with high student loan burden. Policy is currently not as favorable for most physicians.
Courses
Finished Early - Should have been done a long time ago, but I really need to push focus on completion of some of these to clear up my mind. Currently have Spirit Gym, FMU, and ACLM board review courses to finish.
Ended with more on exercise and mental health which just felt like review courses
They had a large DNS focus on exercise, which I’m still uncertain that I agree with their programming from an efficiency standpoint.
