Podcasts

  • Attia - longevity focus on alpha-ketoglutarate, urolithin a & sublingual NAD. It was an interesting discussion with the highlights being no mechanism is currently defined for most interventions impact on longevity. Probable benefit of urolithin A and a-ketoglutarate. Most of the interventions improve exercise function and the question is,  is there additional benefit outside of improving exercise function.

    • Additional longevity agents are - GLP1s, SGLT2, and metformin. Still surprised that there was not more discussion on 17a - estradiol and acarbose. They were skeptical of metformin's impact.

    • The key question are these agents only good for unhealthy individuals

  • Huberman - focus was on psychedelics. Talked about the risk of use in people with manic bipolar and schizophrenia. Potential impact on PTSD and neuroplasticity associated with the concept of self

  • FMF - also a focus on psychedelics. Was talking about psilocybin and it’s potential use as a longevity agent. This is typically because depressed people tend to live shorter lives. There were biological benefits

  • WCI - spoke about the impact of the Big Beautiful Bill and the implications for people with high student loan burden. Policy is currently not as favorable for most physicians.

Courses

  • Finished Early - Should have been done a long time ago, but I really need to push focus on completion of some of these to clear up my mind. Currently have Spirit Gym, FMU, and ACLM board review courses to finish.

    • Ended with more on exercise and mental health which just felt like review courses

    • They had a large DNS focus on exercise, which I’m still uncertain that I agree with their programming from an efficiency standpoint.

    • Larger focus on journaling and it’s benefits
