Training Log 2.1.26

Overall:

Well that weather was interesting. Big wrench in the week and was probably the most bizarre training week I've had in a long time. All the closures impacted life and was the perfect ending to is seeming one of the more challenging months of the year for me personally. What I seem to notice throughout the past several Januarys is you're coming off the stress of the holidays and then you enter into the Ohio darkness in a cold. Currently I'm working through the Dan John Inner circle program for the second time and they discussed  January being named after a goddess that has two faces, one looking forward and one looking backward. December into January was a significant time for reflection and planning going forward. I think the cold is intentionally there and it makes us slow down to do both of these things. Sometimes this is depressing because we think about all the things that we didn't accomplish in the past year and other times it's hopeful with the things that we expect to come in the following year. I've stated this previously that 2025 is one of the more challenging years of my life and I stand by that.

I very much picked up academic learning this past week which felt good. Restarted dating my wife on a consistent basis which feels even better. It's weird to feel like you miss someone that you  see on a daily basis, but the grind of life isn't the same as developing a relationship.

Got the titan open trap bar and this might be my favorite piece of exercise equipment in a really long time. Makes Deadlifts not a pain with the built in jack and has fat grips on it with the open face for weighted carries. Whoever built this deserves an ice cream cone/gold star.

Feel like I have an academic plan for the year - Spirit Gym ->  ACLM -> ILE Phase I/II -> FMU finish

Week prior was the actual lifts, but forgot to log it so will be starting the last training block which is not really that exciting. Thinking about how to modify the program once this complete. Probably repeating, but need to add in more single leg work, this has been neglected way too long and is creating imbalances.
