Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine is an innovative approach to healing that uses your body’s own natural cells and growth factors to repair, restore, and strengthen damaged tissues. Unlike traditional treatments that may only mask symptoms, regenerative therapies aim to address the root cause of pain or injury and support long-term recovery.

Dr. Dan Fosselman brings advanced regenerative medicine techniques directly to our office, offering patients safe, minimally invasive alternatives to surgery.

Platelet-Rich Plasma
(PRP)

Members | $400/kit
Non-Members | $800/kit

PRP therapy begins with a small blood draw, similar to routine lab work. That blood is then processed in a specialized centrifuge to concentrate the platelets—tiny cell fragments that release powerful growth factors.

When injected into an injured area (such as a tendon, ligament, or joint), these growth factors can:

  • Stimulate tissue repair and regeneration

  • Improve blood flow and nutrient delivery

  • Reduce inflammation and pain

  • Support long-term joint health and mobility

PRP is commonly used for sports injuries, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and ligament sprains. Because it’s made from your own blood, the risk of adverse reaction is extremely low.

Musculoskeletal consultation is recommended but not required prior to PRP procedures.

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate
(BMAC)

Members | $3,000
Non-Members | $3,500

BMAC therapy takes regenerative medicine one step further. Bone marrow—collected from the back of the pelvis under local anesthesia—contains a rich supply of stem cells and progenitor cells.

When concentrated and injected into a damaged area, BMAC provides a powerful combination of:

  • Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs): Versatile cells that can support the repair and regeneration of cartilage, bone, tendon, and ligament tissues.

  • Growth factors and cytokines: Natural signaling molecules that coordinate the healing response.

  • Platelets and other supportive cells: Which enhance tissue repair and decrease inflammation.

BMAC is often used for more advanced joint degeneration, difficult tendon or ligament injuries, and cases where PRP alone may not provide enough regenerative potential.

Musculoskeletal consultation is required prior to BMAC procedures.

Why Choose Regenerative Medicine?

  • Delay or avoid surgery

  • Accelerate recovery from injury

  • Reduce chronic pain naturally

  • Support better long-term function and quality of life

At Professional Integrative Care, we tailor regenerative medicine treatments to each patient’s unique needs, always integrating them within a whole-person care plan.

PRP vs. BMAC:
Which Is Right for You?

Next Step: During your consultation, Dr. Fosselman will review your condition, imaging, and goals to help determine which therapy—or combination—is best suited for your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is regenerative medicine safe? Yes. PRP and BMAC treatments use your own blood or bone marrow, so there’s very little risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The most common side effects are temporary soreness, swelling, or stiffness at the injection site. More significant complications are extremely rare.

What outcomes can I expect? While results vary, many patients experience: -Reduced pain -Improved mobility and function -Delay or avoidance of surgery -Better long-term joint health Healing is a gradual process, and we’ll monitor your progress closely.

Are these procedures painful? PRP: Involves a simple blood draw and a guided injection into the injured area. Discomfort is usually minimal, similar to a routine injection. BMAC: Bone marrow is collected from the hip under local anesthesia. Most patients tolerate both procedures well.

Does insurance cover these procedures? Currently, most insurance plans do not cover regenerative therapies such as PRP or BMAC. These treatments are considered out-of-pocket. Professional Integrative Care does not bill insurance for any services provided by Dr. Fosselman. If patients wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider on their own, we are happy to provide a super bill after the procedure. We always recommend checking with your insurance provider directly if you have questions about your coverage.

How long before I feel improvement? Every patient heals at their own pace. Most people notice gradual improvement over 1–3 months, with continued progress for up to 6–12 months. Recovery tends to be faster for PRP than BMAC, but both are designed for long-term results.

Am I a candidate for regenerative medicine? You may be a good candidate if you: -Have joint pain, arthritis, or a musculoskeletal injury -Want to avoid or delay surgery -Haven’t found relief with physical therapy, medication, or other conservative treatments -Are healthy enough to undergo a minor office procedure During your consultation, we’ll confirm whether PRP, BMAC, or another approach is appropriate.

Can multiple areas be treated at once? Yes, depending on your condition and treatment goals. During your consultation, Dr. Fosselman will review whether it’s best to focus on one area at a time or address multiple sites in a single session.

How should I prepare for my procedure? -Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen, naproxen) for about a week before treatment -Stay well hydrated -Eat a light meal the day of the procedure -Wear comfortable clothing to the procedure, ensuring the injection site is easily accessible

What can I expect during a consultation? Your consultation will include: -A full review of your medical history -Review of imaging studies (if available) to assess tissue health -Physical evaluation, if necessary, to assess the area of injury -A discussion of your lifestyle, activity level, and goals From there, Dr. Fosselman will recommend the most appropriate regenerative approach tailored to your needs.

What does recovery look like? PRP: Most patients resume normal daily activities within 5–7 days, with gradual return to exercise over 2–4 weeks. BMAC: Recovery is slightly longer, with light activity in the first week and return to exercise around 6–8 weeks. In both cases, healing continues for several months.

How many procedures has Dr. Fosselman performed? Dr. Fosselman has advanced training in regenerative therapies and has treated hundreds of patients with PRP, BMAC, and combination therapies. Each procedure is done with image-guided precision for safety and accuracy.

What are the risks and side effects of regenerative medicine? Overall, PRP and BMAC are considered very safe since they use your own blood or bone marrow. The most common side effects are mild and temporary, such as soreness, swelling, or stiffness at the injection site for a few days. Less common risks include bruising, infection, or irritation at the harvest or injection site. Serious complications are rare, especially when procedures are performed by a trained physician using sterile technique and image guidance. That said, every patient responds differently, and as with any medical procedure, there is always some degree of risk involved. We encourage you to share any questions or concerns with Dr. Fosselman during your consultation or before your procedure so you feel fully informed and comfortable moving forward.
